Research Interests
Professor Stoughton is an authority on asset management structure, university endowments, corporate finance, strategic financial management and pension fund management from the corporate point of view. His recent research focuses on the investment management industry and the relationship between investors and advisory services. His latest research looks at modeling university endowments and at behavioral tendencies amongst student managed funds.
Dr. Stoughton also has particular expertise in risk management, mergers and acquisitions, capital structure, managerial compensation, transfer pricing and optimal portfolio manager fee schedules. He is a consultant in the area of legal issues, asset management, banking, and economic valuation.
Professor Stoughton has published papers on wealth management, risk management, corporate financial structure, transfer pricing and optimal portfolio management contracts. His work has appeared in the top journals including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Accounting and Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Business.
